VISA AND WORK PERMIT REGULATIONS

Visas

Documents required for application

  • The applicant passport. Please, observe that your passport must be valid until at least 3 months after the expiration of the visa, and that your passport must contain at least two blank pages.
  •  A recently taken  passport-size photograph of the applicant.
  •  A duly completed and signed application form of the applicant.
  •  Appropriate Consular fee.

Types of visa

Which type of visa you qualify for, largely depends on the purpose of your intended trip to Georgia. The following are requirements (apart from the mandatory requirements) for different types of visa.

A) Single and double entry-exit visas

Private Visa (staying with relatives or friends)

The personal petition of the visitor.

Business Visa (business, commercial purposes, attending a conference, exhibition or a trade fair, traveling as a journalist, or to work, etc.)

1.A letter of petition from the inviting company registered in Georgia.

2.A letter of introduction from the employer

Transit Visa

1. Visa of the country of destination (if applicable)

2.A photocopy of your confirmed air ticket to and from Georgia (if applicable)

B) Multiple entry-exit  Visas          

Private Visa (staying with relatives or friends)

1. The personal petition of the visitor.

2. Petition of the citizen of Georgia

3. Copy of ID citizen of Georgia

Business Visa

(business, commercial purposes, attending a conference, exhibition or a trade fair, traveling as a journalist, or to work, etc.)

1.A letter of petition from the inviting company registered in Georgia.

2.A letter of introduction from the employer

Note: In some cases other documents may also be required.

 Visa processing time

- Normally visas should be ready for collection the three working days during opening hours.

- Multiple entry visas may require up to 30 working days to be processed.

Note: in some cases the decision making process can take up to 30 days. The consular service cannot guarantee issuance of any visa. The decision is final and irrevocable.

It is recommended to apply for visa the country of your residence. However, if you are a resident in the country where Georgia is not represented by any of its Diplomatic or Consular Missions, it is free to make application at any of the following visa sections.

The citizens can obtain Georgian entry visas at the following consular-visa services located at the border points of the airports in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, at the ports of Batumi and Poti, also at the "Tsiteli Khidi" (Georgian-Azerbaijan state border, except the citizens of the Russian Federation), "Sadakhlo" (Georgian-Armenian state border, except the citizens of the Russian Federation), "Sarphi" (Georgian-Turkish state border, only for the Turkish citizens), "Vale" (Georgian-Turkish state border, only for the Turkish citizens), and "Kazbegi" (Georgian-Russian state border, only for the citizens of the Russian Federation).       

At the aforesaid points, Georgian visas will be issued for the duration of a month.
